When to tell child about pregnancy

I have just out I’m pregnant and unsure when I should tell my 3 year old. I’m desperate to share the news with him but Im unsure if I should wait until I’m further along. Any advice or experience would be helpful

Congratulations! We told him when I started to properly show, when we knew what gender we were having, and we’d been for scans to show him the photos. He was a bit younger though, so didn’t understand as well as he would now. I lost a baby at 12 weeks before my most recent pregnancy and I’m glad we hadn’t told him and therefore didn’t have to then explain what happened. He was only 2 at the time, but if the same were to have happened now at 3.5 he would have definitely asked more questions etc which I think would have made it harder. But there is no right or wrong time, all just personal preference!

Congratulations i told my son pretty much straight away i was too excited he was two and a half when i told him turned 3 ,3 days after my youngest was born he understood quite well always tells me now how his brother was in my tummy

We told our little boy after we’d had our first early scan x

I told my son straight away when I was pregnant but also do what you think is right, I just wanted my son to be apart of my pregnancy journey second time round every second xxx

I did the pregnancy test with my first born June 2021 girl watching me when she was 2 years 2 months old and she didn’t fully understand but was aware there was a baby in my tummy and as she aged, her understanding of it developed. I think it’s sweet to keep them in the loop because then they can mentally prepare for what’s ahead :)
