Picky eater

My 2 yr son is very very picky eater and drink lots milk. So I cut off his milk right now for him to eat more food and try new foods. We have been following meals schedule and snacks in between not like before he eat little snacks all day long. He refuses to eat anything new, not even touch or trying . He keeps saying yak and even skipped meals. It has been 3 days now. Im so worried. Should I just give in? He is very skinny.

My little guy is so picky too! I’m to the point where as long as he’s eating I’m happy. I always offer 3 meals and he eats what he wants. Some days he eats better than others. Some days it’s just snacks all day. He eats lots of fruit and veggies but hardly any meats so I try and find protein in other things, like goodles Mac and cheese is a staple in our house! They will grow out of it eventually, just keep offering!

It’s actually really normal for kids to get most of their nutrition through snacks so just keep offering healthy snack choices all day. Something I do with my little one is in the morning I blend a ripe banana with kefir (it’s like a cross between milk and yogurt) the banana sweetens it so you don’t need unnecessary sugar and the kefir provides protein. You could also add other fruit he likes. You could add a little bit of ground flax seed for some really good fiber too. Definitely cut down on milk though as it can actually cause anemia in children.

I usually do two yes and a no for Deklans plates. So I’ll put 2 things I know he likes and one thing that is iffy or new. And just don’t say anything one way or the other and offer a dipping sauce so he can do whatever with his food

We just started using serving bowls. Gives little one autonomy on what to put on her plate, and how much of it. She mostly copies us, has her staples.. most snacks are fruits. Good luck!
