Crawling

Looking for some advice on how you helped your littles learn to crawl. My girl is 6 months old and she definitely wants to but right now her crawling just consists of kicking her arms and legs around but I can tell she’s trying her best to army crawl at times. I was told she may have trouble since she is a big girl at 20 lbs. I just want to make sure I’m doing everything I can to help her. TIA

Following bc I’m in the same situation

My toddler is the reason my baby crawles (she’s trying to escape) I’ve also been putting stuff she really want just out of her reach and she tries to scoot to it

I give my daughter a ton of floor time. At first, I would put her on top of a small rectangle pillow so she could learn her positioning so she could use her leg and arm muscles more, which helped a lot. I would also put her legs on my lap so she could use her arms to strengthen them. I would tuck her legs under her for positioning and arms if they were wonky, and I'll get on the floor with her and crawl around her. I don't know if any of that helped, but she's everywhere now, and she's a big girl wearing 12-month clothes. Your baby is still young, she'll get it.

My daughter is in the same boat - 21lb at 6 months. I started by helping to hold her abdomen up off the floor so she gets used to being on all fours, now she can do that part by herself. She still doesn't crawl but she's making movements like she wants to. I think its only a matter of time!

Thank you everyone! 🥰

My guy is 20 pounds too. And I showed him how to tuck his knees under him at tummy time. And then would show him how to get up on all 4s. He isn’t crawling yet but gets up on all fours very readily. And he is starting to rock more and more. But tons of tummy time helped a lot
