Hospital appts

I’ve had extra appts with my pregnancy and scans due to baby being big, problems with not being able to see baby’s stomach on the scan and also I had pre eclampsia in my last pregnancy. but I had a growth scan a few days ago and the consultant I spoke with after the scan said the only appt I have now is my scan appt with fetal medicine which is mid February and she said she won’t book me anymore until I’ve had that appt and see what’s said with that scan and then yesterday and today through a letter and my nhs app I’ve had two random appts booked… one says obstetrics appointment and the other says antenatal appointment. I know antenatal clinic is probably another growth scan or something as my normal scans say antenatal department on the letters but I’ve never had an appt before that says obstetrics.. does anyone know what this might be for?

Any chance they’re on the same day??

@Natalya no I’ve gone through the dates, the obstetrics is start of Feb, fetal medicine is mid Feb and then the antenatal is end of Feb! I’m more confused as the consultant said I won’t have anymore appointments booked yet and then get an extra two through within days after seeing her

That’s strange I was gonna suggest maybe it was an appointment to go through your scan, maybe ring antenatal clinic up and ask. That’s what I do when they book me random appointments😂 I’ve had 3 different random blood tests been booked before

I would ring them & ask what they are for, I did this as I had a few pop up at once & it confused me.

Thank you, I’ll give them a call Monday and double check. I don’t mind going to any appts and always love seeing baby boy on the scans but I don’t want them to be mistakes as the car park you have to pay for beforehand so knowing my luck I pay stupid prices for parking then go in and they tell me it’s been a mistake and I don’t need to be seen😂

It could be worse, you could go for an anti d injection like I did (with my first baby the appt was really quick around 10 mins) so my partner waited for me & didn’t go into the car park whilst I popped in. I was waiting an hour to be seen & got a letter through the post for a £25 fine..wooo 😂

Obstetrics is a consultant appointment so they'd likely discuss your scans/ baby's growth and any other health concerns or complications with you and you have chance to ask questions you may have. You can always ring them and see specifically what the appointment is for if you're worried or ask your midwife if you see them before then.
