My son is terrified of the hand dryers so he will hold it, but we're not out that often for long periods. Definitely something I am working at him overcoming though.
@Jay, that’s good to know my daughters not the only one. The problem is we live quite rural so when we need to go out it’s usually half a day/ full day.
@Francesca, I don’t think it’s not drinking enough, she’s always been quite good at drinking, she holds herself when she’s out but won’t go. We have a travel potty but since using the big girl toilet she doesn’t want to use it anymore 😩. We do try with disabled toilets. Weirdly she loves the hair dryer 😂 just not a hand dryer, but I think it’s because she knows when the hair dryer is going to make a noise if you get me. Where has a hand dryer is random
My LO loves the hair dryer but is petrified of the hand dryer! I always take one of those collapsible toilet seat inserts with me (it’s a panda’s face that always makes my LO laugh) and then I sanitise our hands in the cubical. I don’t bother with washing them so we can just run out past the dryers!
My daughter is the same 😭 ! She refuses to even sit on her portable potty when we’re out and about. I think the comment left by Francesca raises some good points. I might try them.
Do you have a travel potty? Is it just the big toilet she’s scared of? Holding wee 8:30-3 means she’s not drinking enough water or she must be so uncomfortable :-( Get a travel potty and go to other quiet places. Disabled toilets are bigger or women will understand if she’s going near the sinks. When I had my baby and the change table was near the dryer I had to ask people politely to use a paper towel as he was terrified!! Maybe at home use the hairdryer and get used to the noise?
