Compact pram suggestions

I have a fiat 500 so there isn’t really a boot, does anyone have any recommendations for good prams that fold up quite small?

I can’t recommend a Doona highly enough!!! I had one with my daughter and she was in it until she was nearly 2. It’s a car seat with wheels you tube it! You don’t need to put anything in your boot and they are so convenient, easy to push and operate and in general my best purchase I wish they were around when I’d had my 1st. I gave mine to my brother when him and his wife were expecting they spent £1,000 on a travel system but he wanted it as a spare for his car and I wasn’t expecting to have anymore children. They used it all the time their travel system only got used once she grew out the Doona and at that point they could have got a stroller for her. Xx

We have a Cybex eezy s twist+2 which is good. It folds really small, can be parent or world facing and the wheels on the + version are bigger so handles pretty well for such a small pram. You can get a carrycot for it but the seat goes completely flat so we never bothered, and you can also get adaptors for the car seat (again we never bothered). I'd personally avoid the doona. It's a great idea except that the crash test results aren't very good and LO shouldn't be in the car seat for too long anyway - no more than 30 mins when newborn and only up to 2hrs when older. By the time you get LO into the car seat, get the seat into the car, drive where you're going, get LO out, do whatever you need to do, then reverse the whole process, chances are LO will be in the seat more than 30 mins, which puts them at risk for positional asphyxiation. I believe it also doesn't give the best fit for newborns.

@Lucy I was looking at doona’s - what I don’t get is for new borns they shouldn’t be in car seats longer than half hour, and babies 2 hours. So how do they work with this? Because if I’m out hours at a time it seems impractical.

You need a lie flat option. I think it would be too easy to keep baby in the Donna as convenient but not safe when they are so small.

Yoyo works? Or I think it’s bugaboo bee

When I had my fiat I had a Cruz. But I just put the carry cot/ seat in the back on the seat and the pram in the boot but too both wheels off

To be fair most people buy a travel system and then when they get to their destination un clip the car seat and attach it to the pushchair frame I don’t know many people that get their baby out the car seat asleep to transfer them to another attachment! My daughter was never in the car seat for long as I don’t go far it was a god send for the school runs etc! If I was out for a long time I did take my wrap so she could in that whilst I walked around! I used the Doona for 2 years with no problem at all and my daughter was very snug in there and safe! They do have a new model the Doona X that does have a lie flat option too that I’m looking at for this baby! They may not be for everyone and that’s fine but I’ve got nothing. Ut good things to say about them and everyone I know whose had them has said the same xx

Yoyo or Joolz Aer - we have the Joolz it’s a travel pram and it’s great so easy to fold and goes very small we don’t even use our icandy now the yoyo does have a bassinet so the baby can lie down which i think is important they shouldn’t be in a car seat unless in the car in my opinion x

Joolz aer + with bassinet or yoyo with newborn pack … not sure if you’ve already chosen a car seat but the maxi cosi pebble fitted in my fiat 500, they have adapters for both the joolz and the yoyo too…. Wouldn’t recommend the doona the crash tests aren’t good on them, they’re not meant to be used as a proper pram and I very much dobt they’ll even fit in a fiat 500 anyway as they’re bulky x
