Embarrassed and upset

I'm really struggling with post partum BO. No matter how many times I shower what I clean myself with I just feel like I stink. I've just got back from a hairdressers appointment and I'm so upset.I was talking with my hairdresser ( who's little girl is 6 weeks younger than my little girl who's 8 months) and we're quite close so I was telling her I'm really struggling with it and told her I've been to the Gp To see if there's anything I can do there really isn't. Anyway I went up to pay and I heard one of the other stylists say God she stinks doesn't she and another one agree. As I was walking out I heard my hairdresser go back over and said God she did anyone got any air freshener 😭 I just feel so embarrassed and upset

Ok first of all I’m sorry that was your experience especially given the fact you were talking to your hairdresser about this sensitive and obviously very personal issue already. It really is unacceptable and unprofessional and I wish you felt comfortable enough to turn around and say something. Secondly I’d love to help you with some constructive advice but to gain a better understanding of why you’re struggling with this issue so bad, could I ask, are you still breastfeeding? So whilst it is an absolutely normal and universal problem postpartum, it does reduce within a few weeks to months once hormones stabilise. Few things to think about: - breastfeeding in general makes it bad - breastfeeding supplements - fenugreek in particular but honestly anything like aniseed fennel seed etc supplementation - other than showering everyday - are you wearing breathable clothing? Also are you changing your nursing bras and clothes etc every day? It’s hard to advise without knowing more xx

Yes I'm doing all the above, I know it's completely normal and it just came up in conversation that I was struggling with it and just feel like I stink all the time.

Yeahhh I feel you, so sorry you went through this. I feel like I smell like a fucken farm animal all the time, idk like a goat or smt. 🙄 Its awful. Normally I'd put perfume on but I'm not for baby obvi. About the salon ppl, I would have given them an earful. They clearly don't have kids and they have no business being rude to their paying customers. In fact, I'd probably raise a formal complaint about it

@Dominique unfortunately they're all in their 30's with children and new babies themselves....

Then they should know better than to shame a paying customer!! I would raise a formal complaint and probably leave a negative Google review or something. Honestly, I hope they go out of business with that attitude. I hope youre okay

I don’t have any advice I just wanted to give you a hug! What a horrible thing to happen I’m so sorry xxxx

Micham paste deodorant works wonders and then using an antibacterial softener in the washing machine and don’t wear tight clothes I’ve suffered since I was 16

That’s terrible and I’m so sorry that happened to you. I started a job that made me anxious and sweat a lot and obviously over some hours I didn’t feel I smelt that nice but I found this antiperspirant that stopped literally any and all smells and lasted for hours. You can use it on your whole body if you wanted to as I understand it might not be just your underarms. I’m sorry it’s not really solving your problem but I hope it helps somewhat. I’ve put the link to it below 😊 Triple Dry Women | Shield With... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07WC6KF8W?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Girl I’m so sorry that happened to you! 💗 just reading that made me so upset! 😭 since i gave birth to my baby my husband has told me my hair smells! 😭 I wash it everyday in hopes that it stops but every time I ask him he says it still smells 😕

Hey there! It is very common that once you have the baby your body odour is a bit stronger but that is because it helps the baby to recognise you and know where the milk is. I wouldn’t worry about it unless you are experiencing any other symptoms (itching, redness, swollen areas).
