Usually when you're in the middle of your stims and have a scan to check the follicles they'll give you an estimated day for ER.

We are going to have a scan on Day 10 of stims. They told us to BD the day we do the trigger shot and it will be enough time as you go in for ER 36 hours later.
We were told in the lead-up to our Egg retrieval at every scan; what sort of date we might be looking at for the egg retrieval. So each scan sort of Moved that date slightly. Then on the final scan (I think I’d been injecting for like 11 days at that point) that I’d take the trigger injection on day 14, and then 36 hrs later, come in for the retrieval. So we were able to work out when my SO should abstain from. Hope that helps. They really do update you at every appointment on how your ovaries are responding so you can keep an eye from that xx
So the general is 3 to 4 days before ER. However we made a slight boo and my husband hadn't for 7 days leading up, it resulted in 2 samples on the day 🤭🤣 Poor guy!.. But it seems most clinics allow 5 days before too as a minimum, So I wouldn't worry too much. ER is generally 10-14 days after you've been stimming 😊
