Transvaginal scan

I’ve had 2 , they’ll ask you to empty bladder , go get sorted they get the probe ready and insert , it’s not too bad

I don't find them at all painful, feels weird for a sec when they insert then barely any discomfort once it's in. Compared to a speculum for example, nowhere near as uncomfortable. Actually prefer it to early transabdominal scan because don't need a full bladder! And they can see so much on the scan, it's amazing, even told me what ovary I ovulated from x

It’s not bad at all. I’ve had 5 🤦🏼‍♀️ it’s really easy and simple and doesn’t hurt. Sometimes just feel a bit of pressure but this only happened with the trainee I had do it

For me it was little uncomfortable , mainly lots of pressure but same as any scan xx

@Izabella no, with my 1st baby I had an emergency c section when I was fully dilated, so apparently higher risk of baby being premature this time around. So they check cervix length and if it’s not right they put a stitch in it I think! X

Oh thank you all I have to have one too next week, due to emergency c section last time and have been feeling worried. I wonder if they would tell you the gender or maybe they can’t see that much?! Probably tell me to sod off!

@jodie I’ll let you know how I get on 🙏 I have no idea how much of baby they will be looking at or if it’s literally just for the cervix! I’m hoping not in a way as my husband is working so I’ll be on my own x

Just to let you all know, I had the scan today, it was absolutely fine not painful at all or even uncomfortable really, just weird 😬🤣 I do have to return for another in a couple of weeks though which is annoying but good they are being careful x
