Not baby related, sorry. Just looking for others experiences..

Hi guys, I wondered if anyone has had a LLETS biopsy before, and if so, how long it took for your bleeding to stop? I had one done about 2.5 weeks ago. Unfortunately I got an infection from it too. Thankfully antibiotics has cleared up the infection, however I'm still getting bleeding (fresh bleeding, like from the wound..) I wondered if this was normal? I have phoned and seen my GP, however their words have literally been "I don't really know much about that type of thing...". Aka - unhelpful. The internet is also giving me mixed results too. So turning to here (a women's only UK group) to see if there's anyone that has been in a similar boat before. Thank you!

I would contact the clinic/hospital that you had it done in. I had mine on Friday and I am still bleeding but it has only been 2 days. I have the number for the dept at the hospital I had it done at though so I’d call them rather my gp. I find GP’s are shit in general now. I took my son in for a rash a few months ago and the gp just sat there googling it and comparing his skin to the pics…he determined it was viral and it was that evening he ended up in hospital 🙃 I’ve completely lost my faith in GP’s since

@Courtney i hope you're not too sore. I was sore for a couple days (I rested as much as possible as advised). Unfortunately I had an infection afterwards which was annoying. I phoned the hospital I had the biopsy done in last week to say that I'm still bleeding, and the lovely lady on the phone said that I shouldn't be after this time and I should contact my GP. I did exactly that, the GP saw me 4 days ago, took another swap and was just generally clueless. Kinda feel like I'm going in circles haha hence why I turned here for actual woman's experiences 😅

I had a LLETZ done a few years ago now, and bled for around 3 weeks after but it was getting lighter as time went on. If you’re worried, try calling the department where you had it done and I’m sure they will help x

@Kayleigh thank you so much. I know everyone is different, but noone really gave me much information of what to expect afterwards. Appreciate your reply
