@Chiara thank you so much for being open. I’ll check entitledto right now. Would you mind if I message you in private if I have any more questions?
No problem 😊 yeah of course you're more than welcome to x
If you’re a single parent, you’d be amazed at how much you have to earn to completely wipe out UC. Single element, child element and rent and you’d need to be earning over £2k a month to have no UC top up. That doesn’t include childcare or if you have more than 1 child. So it’s well worth working as with a child you get a work allowance of £404 if you rent or £637 if you have a mortgage before any deductions ☺️
@Chiara such a helpful response, thank you to you and Luana.
I’ve not long just gone back to work full time and it’s definitely worth it, I’m earning like 360 a week give or take and I get 15 hours funded hours so I’m only paying 450 in childcare fees and I claim that back with uc so it doesn’t feel like all my wage is disappearing. So far not seen a change in uc payment neither. For my weekday routine, my sons normally asleep by 7:30 latest 8 so I have time to myself and I meal prep for the week on Sundays so lunches and breakfasts are done and dinners are prepped ahead of the day and it’s been working so far
I’m working part time at the minute and trying to weigh up if working more hours/ full time would be a good move or not so I feel you❤️
Hey! It's definitely worth it for me but I'm on a very good wage... I can't give an exact amount but it's 35-40k working 30hours over 4 days. My little one is in nursery all 4 days. I still get UC on top of my wage and still get to spend a decent amount of time with her. Now that I.get the 15hrs free I'm actually able to start saving again. Even when I go back up to my full wage I will still be able to get UC. Don't get me wrong I'm actually done in by the end of my third day. My 4th day I work from home but it's beneficial to me as it give me some sort of my own identity back and allows me and my daughter to have days out. I would use the 'entitledto' website. You can check how much better off you'd be financially if you were to go back to work and can see the difference by changing number of hours etc... that's the only way you'll really be able to gauge as everyone's circumstances are so different
