Yes my son does eat, more & all done. We didn’t do Milk bc he’s breastfed and just goes for my short/boob. It’s very helpful when they can’t talk. Now my son talks and signs at the same time and it’s like he’s double screaming MORE 👉🏼👈🏼 at me 😂

My almost 5 yr old still signs certain things lol

Yes! I decided to from an overall accessibility & inclusion standpoint! I think everybody should know sign language (:

1st (girl) loved it & did & ended up knowing 25 signs. Helped a lot . 2nd (boy) just didn’t get it, he had other ways to communicate. Will try a few with my 3rd (girl)

Basic signs with our oldest two. Didn’t do much with our third. Definitely going to do it again with our 4th. But not too much. I have friends that only used sign language with their kids and it was a factor in their delayed speech.

Yesssss my son's favorite sign is more lmao 🤣 as in more food please 😅 he's 10 months, 30 lbs, and his 18 months are tight on him now. Haha. We don't over feed him (though I think his daddy gives him extra bottles without telling me). Would explain his neediness. Haha.

Didn't with my daughter but she's 9 now and knows over 100+ signs through her volunteering with the special needs class. She's also in what seems like a million clubs. So, no matter when you start, as long as they're young, it's always helpful. My grandma had a stroke in her sleep last year. Now she can't speak at all. She is learning sign so we have all kind of been learning what we can too.

Yes, we did sing and sign classes which my little girl absolutely loved, and she picked up loads of signs which she could use before she learned to speak. It's a misconception that using signs can delay speech, all the children in my classes were excellent communicators. The idea is that the children use the sign but every time the adult sees them use it or uses it themselves they say the sign as well. So you're teaching the words and the signs. Various grandparents were a bit skeptical and thought it might replace speech but then were amazed at how early she could communicate basic wants/needs, and as soon as she learned to say the word she dropped the sign and was eager to learn more signs and more words. She's an excellent speaker now. A lot of it's down to the individual child but I feel signing really helped support her learning

We use a few signs with our now 12 month old. So far he signs for milk and responds when I sign more or eat/food. Him being able to sign milk has been really helpful so that he can tell me what he wants without crying. I'm trying to use signs with him more while he's still learning to communicate. But his dad uses Spanish with him so it's a bit hard with 3 different languages/ways to say things.

Yes from very early and he’s quite advanced verbally now at 2!

I tried and tried he isn't signing back. He is saying words. Don't put so much pressure on yourself

Helped sooo much. Could communicate with him before he could even talk. One time it really helped was when we were at a family gathering and someone was holding him, I was across the room but watching. He made eye contact with me and motioned “all done” so I went and grabbed him

@Abby I love this ❤️
