Anything you wish you'd asked possible nursery/ childcare when first considering options?

Hi everyone, it looks like I'll need to get some childcare for my little one, which I didn't think I'd need but parents are being non committal lol. I have an idea of questions to ask but is there anything that you'd particularly recommend asking from experience of looking at options?

So I work at a nursery and a lot of parents are very worried about knowing what’s gonna go on in the day, ect x we’ve got an app that will ping across their nappies their meals their sleeps when they’ve been signed in and out ect x ask about this 100% my little boy attends a nursery also x and it’s a godsend x

Ask about the sickness policies x especially if you’re a working parent x so you can find out any probation period if your child is sick x

If your child has additional needs x ask how they will be met x

- how many babies and how many rooms they have, when do they move between rooms - do they have any closures during the year - do kids choose their own key person or is it assigned - what’s the settling in like - how many days etc - do they go outside a lot - what app they use for updates - sickness policy If you forget something you can always ask later/ call. From my experience - you will see when you come in if you like it. How are people who work there, do kids seem to like them and cuddle up to them, how the setting is itself. I found it all daunting but when we moved to nursery it turned out a great move. X

Sickness policy. They can be so variable and if they don’t follow nhs guidance you could be missing a lot of work.

Great ideas, thanks everyone 🙏🏼
