Antenatal/maternity ward etiquette

Am I being crazy or do people on the ward have no courtesy for others. I was admitted into antenatal ward with and the other patients are listening to music and telly with no headphones and taking calls on speaker at all hours (5 am this morning, what a treat)!

I can’t cope on hospital wards, last time I was admitted was oct 2022 and I cried my entire stay, to the point where the consultant discharged me earlier than he wanted because I was miserable, I’ve heard horrors about antenatal wards and I’m DREADING staying after baby and if I need to stay beforehand

I feel this! I was admitted a few weeks ago and the rules were partners had to leave by 9pm so my partner followed the rules and had to leave me in pain and agony crying but other women had their partners staying until gone midnight and they are talking so loudly, eating food so loudly and nothing was ever done!

Yep after I gave birth last time I had a lady next to me on FaceTime all hours 😡 Could not pay for a private ward as Covid times.

Super lucky where I am as all in patients get their own room at our hospital! And partners get to stay with you. Hoping I can stay at least one night to make use of that

@Jessica very lucky we now have to pay £300 for a room of our own & no partners allowed to stay 😕

I was exactly the same when I was admitted at Christmas, people on the phone till 3-4am in the morning, ordering takeaway at 2am. Very inconsiderate 🙃 however I've been an inpatient multiple times over the years and it's the same everywhere
