How do you handle public toilet situations when potty training? Do you guys bring lysol wipes, your own toilet paper and toilet covers? I’m so freaked out by public toilets so just wondering what other moms are doing.

I am so careful when I use public restrooms, I’ll wipe the toilet first with toilet paper then lay a bunch of TP down on the seat and in the toilet bowl so there’s no splash back & then I hover if possible and flush using my foot or hand covered in toilet paper instead of touching it. I also use anything else as a barrier so I don’t touch the door handle in the stall or bathroom, it’s just so gross lol I swear I’ve seen #1, #2 & sometimes bits of blood or vomit in or around the toilet area in public places and then there’s the germs you can’t see that are scary.

I either use our own travel potty or hold them in a squat over the toilet so they don’t actually touch anything

I have this potty thing you can put on toilets it’s super cool. It comes with a bag so once you’re done you can fold it up and put in the bag then put it in your diaper bag. I used it for my son when he was learning to potty training and only sitting on toilets. Now he’s potty trained with standing up so we use it when he needs to poop in public. I have a daughter and I’ll probably use it when we’re in public. I’ll link it down below https://a.co/d/4E1ziO6

I make my usual "nest" with TP and wash our hands well after, my 5 year old already knows how to make a TP seat cover aka a "nest" but avoid using those horrid air hand dryers! My girls use my pants to dry their hands on. 😄

@Katrina another vote for one of these portable seats! I stick it back in the bag then disinfect properly when I get back home. I keep a little pack of disinfectant wipes in the bag so I can give the loo seat a quick wipe

I bring a portable toddler seat topper.

@Laura yess! I do the same. The seat is a life saver .
