Help with a couple of questions

I'm 3 weeks PP/FTM and have a couple of questions that may come across/sound stupid! I had 2nd degree tears with dissolvable stitches. How long do the stitches take to dissolve? And how long is it before I can have a bath? I've not had any blood on the pad in about a week/week and a half, just a fair amount of discharge. When can I stop wear these massive pads!? Finally, I've been getting really horny recently but everywhere I look/every professional I've asked gives conflicting information. At what point am I able to start having sex with my partner again? Thank you in advance!

Firstly congrats on your baby! ❤️ In answer to your questions - I was told after my episiotomy that dissolvable stitches usually take between 4-6wks to allow optimal healing/dissolve - you can stop wearing massive pads whenever you feel like it/feel comfortable (although PP bleeding isn’t linear and can come and go) - for health and safety reasons doctors recommend 6wks before having sex, as the wound where your placenta has detached is still there and you’re at an increased risk of infections/sepsis etc due to being open/the size (speak with your GP some may give you the go ahead for between 4-6wks). Side notes: - sex may be painful initially - use lots of lube and open communication, if it’s too painful don’t keep going - you’re highly fertile right now, if you don’t want to be dealing with 2u2 make sure you take necessary precautions to prevent pregnancy - you can do *other stuff* outside of normal sex in the meantime

Thank you! I am more in love than I thought I could be! And thank you for answering those questions, that really helps. I asked my health visitor earlier but she didn't know the answer to any of them... She's actually been pretty useless with any questions I've asked her. Also, thank you for your side notes, other than being highly fertile which I was told when I left the hospital I wouldn't have known that either
