How to make up a bottle of nutramigen

Before i bought a prep machine i would measure the water into his bottles and pre scoop his formula into sterile formula pots so all i had to do was put the formula into the bottle and shake it because trying to count scoops when your tired or have a crying baby is almost impossible 🤣 x
So with nutramigen you're best to fill all bottles with boiling water and just leave them on the side to cool down to room temp These will be okay for 24hours When a bottle is needed just add the formula to the cooled water shake and feed Also can be done with neocate too Hot water kills all the good bacteria in nutramigen that's why it must be room temp
@Emma-louise we have been put onto neocate and I've been use a prep machine does that mean I've been killing the good bacteria in it ? Should I just be using cooled boiled water as you've said with nutrimigen
@Siobhan yeah neocate is cool boiled as well depending on your prep machine you can keep using it though you just have to make sure it doesn’t use a hotshot x
When my baby was on Neocate I used to make up several bottles of boiled water and leave to cool at room temp, then just add the formula when needed 🙂
@Siobhan you can just press the button twice with neocate I believe its more of a taste thing but I'm also sure it's got to be no hotter than 50 degrees with neocate to keep the bacteria in We use neocate and press the button on the prep machine twice before adding the formula as she will point blank refuse it any colder 🙈
I’m really struggling to get my LG to drink any of it snd even slightly warmed! She also knows if I mix it with slightly warned aptamil 😢
Nutramigen is made with cool boiled water because it has probiotics that will be killed above 70 decades so you can either hands scoop when they want a bottle or use a prep machine that doesn’t use a hotshot like the baby brezza x
