Worried about babys cough - whooping cough?

Hi, my baby has a cough that's got worse and she has quite scary coughing bouts where she seems to struggle to breathe. Most of the time, when she's not having one of these bouts, she seems fine in herself. Does it seem like whooping cough or just a nasty cough? Am ringing gp in the morning but worried now.

I’m no doctor but it could be a whole lot of things including whooping cough or croup. Here is a link to NHS on different types of coughs. https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/croup/ If I I were you, I’d Take baby’s temperature too and plenty of fluid. Worth a visit to GP to get checked out and provide you with medical advice.

Thank you all - we saw a gp in the morning who wasn't very concerned - took a swab to see if it was whooping cough but said it will be too late for antibiotics by the time results come back - not that helpful!

She's fine when not coughing, so I understand why they weren't too concerned but it's very scary when she struggles to breathe, so I will keep a close eye
