Worried about cough - whooping cough?

Sorry this isn't about my July baby but my 2 month old - but I find this group so helpful I hope it's ok to post. Hi, my baby has a cough that's got worse and she has quite scary coughing bouts where she seems to struggle to breathe. Most of the time, when she's not having one of these bouts, she seems fine in herself. Does it seem like whooping cough or just a nasty cough? Hoping to get a gp appointment.

If she’s struggling for breath take her to drs or hospital! There’s so much going around at the moment it better to be safe x

Straight to the Dr's. She will be seen straight away as infant. Or walk in. Xx

If you haven’t been able to see a dr today, call 111 and they will get you an appointment or send you to the hospital. Best to get her checked out today , bless her!

Thanks all - I did get a doctor's appointment this morning. They just took a swab and said by the time results come back it will be too late for antibiotics anyway - not the most helpful! But to be fair when she's not coughing, which is most of the time, she seems perfectly happy and healthy. I will just keep a close eye I think

Could it be croup?

Wow not helpful at all. I was meaning to say croup. My son was prescribed steroids as a precaution when he was about 9 months. But that's when there was a massive thing about strep B. Did you show them the video xx

@Ruth yes I did show the video. Was your son very poorly when not coughing do you remember? I'll see how she is tonight and might ring gp or 111 for a second opinion I think
