Toddler Grabbing Hair

Anyone else's March baby really into grabbing hair and not letting go? He does this when he's frustrated and doesn't know how to handle the feelings. I have tried giving him other outlets to do when frustrated, prying his hands off and walking away (not making a big reaction so he continues) but to be honest I am really triggered by it and will yell for him to let go. Any advice on what you have all tried? I would prefer a gentle approach. Thanks!

Yep! He stopped for a while and has started again. It takes two of us to ungrip his hands as he gets a really tight grip on it! He has only ever let go once and that was when I raised my voice. Other than that he laughs and keeps gripping 😔 so you definitely aren’t alone.

@Kayleigh well it's nice to hear it's not just my little one😂🙈

Same with mine, he does it to me and to other kids. I learned that he often is triggered by something and it got better when I tried to catch him before he does it and told him that I get that he’s frustrated, but I can’t let him do that. Also comforting the other kid (or if it’s me, my husband comforting me) also helped. It’s still happens and it’s exhausting to be on top of him constantly, but he’s 2 end of Feb and it is really getting better, but slowly
