So she said she wants another scan in 2 weeks time to see what the fluid is and she also mentioned GTT test and TORCH screening and I know Google is a bad thing to do 🙈x
@Amy the best start would be the GT test as I had it with my last baby it's called polyhydramias (however it's spelt) and it was down to the diabetes i had. Google is such a monster 😅 I'm just as bad.. my baby had her own swimming pool 🤣🫠 it's good that they're ruling out things to get to the bottom of it x
I had a growth scan yesterday at 31+5 and my largest pool was 7.9cm and the sonographer said everything was fine x
@Sami Yes she said polyhydramias, did you have to have your daughter early? What did they do to make it better? Is it diet? I’m already coeliac (gluten free) x
@Roxy yes the sonographer said I needed to speak to a doctor after the scan. Did she measure all 4 of yours? She only measured one of mine and I have to go back in 2 weeks x
@Amy No, I was 38 weeks when they found that i had that and turned diabetic but I was booked in for a induction for later that week, as to diet if you are diabetic, it's blood testing 4 times a day learning what you can and can't eat. Bread being a big no no! As its carbs as well as sugar. If you cannot stable your bloods that way then it's either metaformin or insulin ( found out at 28 weeks this time around) x
@Sami oh god I’m hoping it’s not! My diet changed 2 years ago when I found out I was coeliac. I don’t eat bread, I have gluten free alternatives and I am having a c section with this baby due to traumatic birth with my son 4 years ago xx
@Amy it's not fun! 😅 same here but if bubs gets bigger or anything else I'll be having my section earlier then 39 weeks.. (booked in for one due to my daughters birth being traumatic as well)! Xx
@Sami thank you for commenting 🥰 and I really hope everything goes well! To add to my c section baby is breech at the minute too 🤣 all fun and games being pregnant! Xx
I had this exact situation, baby was measuring 99th percentile and I had polyhydromnios too. I had a total of 3 growth scans (the 2nd and 3rd showed growth back in normal range around 77th percentile) and my fluid was back to normal levels by 3rd scan. I did have a few extra checks specifically looking for diabetes (had to test my bloods several times a day for a few weeks) and I also had the full torch checks too but they couldn’t find anything that caused it. As I say, everything is back to ‘normal’ now and I was signed off from the consultant etc. I’m now 39 weeks and playing the waiting game! The sonographer told me it can just be one of those things, or like others have mentioned, baby had just had a wee before the scan! I know how you are feeling as I was really concerned too and didn’t feel very informed but hoping to give you some reassurance. Sounds like they’re checking all the right things and hopefully it will rectify itself for you as it did for me 🥰 xx
I've just been for my 28week scan and had exactly the same experience with one of my twins! I've been told it could be GT and have been referred to speak to a fetal medicine consultant. Nobody seemed too concerned so I'm trying to be as a rational as possible 😆 x
Have you been for a GT test yet at all? It could be baby had a wee 😅 sounds odd but if the consultation isn't too concerned about it, it's not always a bad thing.
