Thank you 🥺 I feel I needed to hear this 😢 I keep seeing videos that babies just eating by their selves. After a while I just questioning myself if I’m doing something wrong 😣 I’ll try to do that 🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️
@Buse oh I know! I can be up for hours watching the babies bust down steak and asparagus with their lil teeth 😆🥹 my second baby still does this!! With any type of meats so I had to accept that he was a whole vegan 😅
Hugs mama 🫂♥️ one thing that maybe help with anxiety is getting yourself cpr certification. Also if you look up solid starts on instagram, it’s an amazing resource. I know gagging looks scary, but believe they figure it out my husband still gets anxiety and nervous and this is our second time doing this. I always tells him, if he’s not purple he’s fine 😅 it’s sounds scary but it’s true. You can tried putting different foods in the tray and just let him touch it, our biggest organ is our skin, so that’s how he’s going to recognize the textures at first
My son (7months) was doing the exact same thing! He’s doing it a little less now but definitely still doing it. It has made me super anxious about the whole eating thing too bc of choking vs gagging. I’ve continued to give him similar foods to help get him used to new flavors and textures. Some days he likes it some days he gags. But I haven’t stopped bc he seems to be slowly learning. I also bought melts to help get him used to food but also feeling at ease knowing they literally melt even if it got stuck. You’re doing great!!! 🫶🏼
@Birth Worker Iji that’s also different subject for us. I don’t eat meat but I’m gonna make sure he tries and decides to eat or not 😄
@Sofia that’s really good idea! I have to check it. At least I’ll have confidence 💪🏻 I have their app and using before every food. I feel him in that 🤣 I also know babies will be quiet and change color but I feel im overthinking and making bad scenarios in my head 🥲🙈 I already told my husband about cpr classes, I definitely will do that 🤩
@Danielle how you feeding him? Are you letting him to feed himself or are you feeding him? 🥺 I don’t know how to feed him. Like I’m giving him by special spoons but after he gagg I feel bad and let him to play with it
Make the purees and add a little water for a thinner consistency
He doesn’t love being fed, he likes to do it himself. So I use 2 spoons. I load one up and feed him which he then takes it and feeds himself. Then I have the second one ready to swap. He definitely plays and chews on the spoon a bit as well. Or I’ll give him big chunks of steamed sweet potato, carrot, etc. I have also used this feeder thing and he really likes it bc he can feed himself. I put all sorts in it bc it won’t come out in big chunks so you don’t have to worry so much https://rstyle.me/+CT6guw4nCIvlFUJnkDdq4Q
It sounds like he may not be ready yet mama! try one of those fruits, like banana every day in different forms for a week to get baby love used to textures, explore tastes and their sensory without too much going on Be easy with yourself. You’re doing soo wonderful! Always eat together also so baby can also explore smells and see how mama gets down with her food 🍽️
