Scan photos at growth scan

I have a 28 week growth scan at the heath hospital tomorrow. Just wondering if they allow people to buy photos for growth scans?

If the sonographer could get a good image we always came home with one free of charge

we always got a couple for free at growth scans in both my pregnancies, the sonographers are so lovely they usually just print a few for you as they’re going (ime anyway) xx

They’ve changed in the past two years. Take cash with you, they’re £5 per strip now. They’ll give you the chance to hand the money to reception, they’ll give you a token for the machine which gives you a ticket (if the machine is working)

I was given a few for free too x

I was given them for free at my growth scan at the Heath x

@Rhyssa do you need pound coins or is a £5 note ok? X

I’d take both to be safe, but from what I remember notes should be okay. Hopefully, from what others have said, they’ll give them to you for free 🤞🏻🤞🏻

They give for free if they can capture a good image!

I had at least 5 scans at UHW and I didn’t have to pay for a single photo. You can bring money just in case, but I was never charged

They used to write it on the appointment scan letters too, might be worth checking to see if it’s still on there? That’s ideal though if they’ve stopped

@Rhyssa I haven’t got a letter it’s a growth scan so I got given the appointment in a text message x

Growth scan they don't charge for, I gave birth in August and had multiple growth scans and always had an image for free if baby was in good position for photo x

Yes they don’t charge for growth scans at all. I’ve had 2 recently and given free images with both! Also if you work for NHS they give you all scans for free, even 12 and 20 week scan FYI
