@Liv that is CRAZY she wants to be called mama. I’d be livid. Have you said anything to her!? As of rn my baby is 6 months and I am not ready for anyone other than me and dad go watch him. So I don’t blame you for not wanting her to babysit
I always correct her and say nana which is what her mom (GMIL) was called by hubs and SIL. It’s actually caught on with the rest of the family and I’ve been letting the family take care of it. Hubs aunt and her used to be besties but there’s been tension with the aunt calling MIL on her shit
Also I’m totally cool for my parents to watch her for a couple hours and my SIL has been over to watch her while I do chores, shower etc. It’s specifically MIL and FIL that I don’t trust due to their disrespect and boundary stomping. Speaking of FIL he made a joke that hubs should’ve asked for an extra stitch when we video called them from the hospital 🫠
Mine vidio calls and as soon as I answer she says "where's my gran son" no hello, how are you , no conversation... dont worry I'm only 38 weeks pregnant and my heads falling off but thanks for asking 🤣 (I always ask how she is before she cuts me off)
My mil wanted to live with us after my husband finished paternity leave. She didn’t ask me, she told him that’s what she planned on doing. He didn’t even need to ask me first, he told her hell no. She laughed at him and said he doesn’t know how difficult it’ll be raising a newborn and that we’ll need her help. I was thrilled that he set that boundary without me having to ask, but I was offended that she doesn’t think we can parent our son. Like, ofc it’s hard. Literally no one says it’s easy. It’s part of transitioning into parenthood 🤦♀️
MIL is really pushing to babysit my baby and makes jokes about taking her to get her ears pierced. Wants to be called mama, and has tried many times to show up unannounced. I keep the door locked now. She literally tried it today, brought a big Costco thing of Scot towel that she knows we don’t need as we use reusable ones
