First appointment

Hello, I filled out a self transferral form online for my local early pregnancy unit! Already heard back with a booking appointment date when I’m 8 weeks!

Self refer online, you then download an app called badger notes. They will send you a pin etc. they will automatically send you an appointment (won’t be a scan) then you will get a scan appointment for around 12 weeks

I used my pregnancy notes for my 1st baby so I just registered another pregnancy on there and got my appointment date same day x

I just called up my local midwife team and they told Me to fill out a self referral online and gave me the website details for my area. I’d do this asap as I found out at circa 7 weeks in my last pregnancy and then all my appointments ended up being later than normal because I was at the back of a long queue! I found out I’m pregnant yesterday and called them Today

I did a self referral as soon as I found out last week, I’ve not heard anything from them yet. A little worried I’ve been missed but I’m not sure how long it takes them to contact you

I haven't contacted them yet as I was told I need to be 6 weeks, but you need to complete the self referral form online and call them to book the appointment

I had to go to the GP. They filled in a short form and referred me to the midwifery team.

@Aishah It all depends on what area you are in. Ring your GP and the receptionist will know whether you need a GP appointment first or whether you can just self refer to the midwifery team.

It's so annoying how it's different from city to city and some of us wouldn't know this information if it weren't for this group lol

I called my GP today and they said no need to visit them, just self refer directly to maternity hospital and they will do everything there.

But I'm feeling quite weak so asked to arrange a blood test for me, and they booked an iron blood test for next week

Self referred to the hospital and my first appointment is at 9 weeks :)
