Is your baby doing gestures and what are they? My girl hold her arms up to be picked up and that’s literally it, she’s 12 n bit months, should I be worried ?

I don't think you should worry too much. My son points and waves, but it's more of a open and close fist rather than a normal wave. Kids develop differently. Could always talk to your gp or hv to make sure but they will probably say the same, not to worry.

Maybe your baby just didn’t think it is important to gesture for other things haha All babies are different!

Mine has been holding arms up for a good few months. Started to randomly shake hand in a wave a couple of months ago and now waves on demand perhaps 50% of time. She started clapping New Year’s Day and now if you say “Margot, can you clap?” She will do it without being shown the gesture. She has started pointing at things close up like in books and using her index finger to press buttons, but doesn’t point properly yet. She is one today! They are all totally different though as my girl never rolled, has never crawled, can’t get from laying to seated, occasionally pulls to standing but hardly ever, but has been bearing weight since 5,5-6 months, taking steps since 7 months, walking since 9 months but STILL won’t let go of a finger even today. So no you need not worry at all, I bet she did concentrating on other skills and will do gestures when it suits her!

My LB will be 13 months next week, he puts his arms up to be lifted, waves bye - only did this for the first time on his 1st birthday, has started doing high 5 this past week, He doesn't really clap only sometimes, he shakes his head for 'no' too. They all do it in their own time🤍🤍

She waves, points to things she wants (although with her middle finger so can look rude!!), claps, hands on head when I ask where her head is, does ‘uhoh’ with her arms out, shakes head for no, arms up to be held. All different though. I’d say she’s been w little slower with movement. Crawling came later and she’s no where near walking!

I think my little boy is on the later end of things with gestures. He claps and puts arms up for lifting - but not waving or pointing yet. Definitely can be worrying when you hear about/see others a similar age doing much more but I’m sure they’ll get there in their own time x
