I would love to have the confidence to, my son goes to nursery in April so to go to the cinemas and watch an adult movie or to eat out, in peace would be a delight.
Grab a coffee, go find somewhere nice to sit with a book. It’s so calming! My kids are too young, and we live very remote so I have them with me 24/7 but sometimes when we go away I take myself for a cuppa 🤣
I love it. I go get coffee, read at the library. It’s much needed.
I just tell my friends where I’m going that day and if they wanna come, they can come. If not, I’ll still go myself regardless. Like we keep up w each other what we’re doing daily. I’ll say “was thinking of going beach later. Wanna come?” And if they come, great. If not, that’s a couple hrs spent alone on the beach. That’s how I met my bestie on here 3yrs ago we didn’t plan it at all, I told her I’m thinking of going Ikea and she’s like can I join you. Sure 💁🏻♀️ otherwise yeah I would’ve spent the day by myself. I just go anywhere and everywhere, let my friends know, if they are free/bored they can join me. But they do that to me too. Just go places w the intention of going by yourself but let friends know that’s what you’re doing and it puts the ball in their court whether they wanna join. Instead of trying to “plan” things w people, works out better for me this way. Spontaneous. But yes i do take myself on dates. I spent 5hrs on the beach by myself once just enjoying the sunset.
Always and always! I've been taking myself on dates even before having children. My favorite is expensive dinners, bc it's too expensive to take both me and my husband, even worse w kids. So it's actually affordable to pay for just 1 person. My friends do join sometimes, but if I want to do something, I'll do it and not wait for them.
Once you start to date yourself then it's up from there. A huge confidence booster, not to mention you will notice the treatment you get from total strangers while you are out. For instance, if you ever take yourself on a solo dinner, pay attention to how attentive the waiter/ waitress is with you. I love it!! I've made it a priority to still continue to take myself on solo dates even if I'm in a relationship. It helps set the tone with boundaries. This also helps you learn things about yourself apart from being in mom mode. You want to try out that coffee shop or go browsing in a museum?? Then just go for it 💜
I’ve done a few spa days alone. They’re the best tbh 😬
I went & got my nails done the other day while my partner looked after our little boy was my first time being away from him since having him. Was only half an hour but was still nice to treat myself + have some me time 😊
I have, but it’s challenging for me. I want to continue taking myself out tho. My friends are flakes, but I don’t want to miss out on stuff in life I might enjoy. So I’ve ended up going alone. It is what it is. Sometimes it’s nice, some not. But it’s great to try to experience things! I’ve gone to the movies, swimming, coffee
Movie dates are good beginner friendly things to do alone. I like to go to lunch alone too.
