She’s here 💕

Born yesterday at 12:26pm via elective C-section at 39 weeks exactly. Weighing 7lb 4oz. She’s been such an angel, breastfeeding has been a dream, and recovery is so much better then the emergency one I experienced 3 years ago. Absolutely no regrets going with an elective section. All being well should be going home today too!

Congratulations. This all sounds perfect. Please share your c section experience when you can as I have one planned next week 🤍

Congrats and so lovely to hear! I’m booked in for a c section at 41 weeks if baby doesn’t make an appearance before then

Yes please to sharing c-section experience. I’m booked in for an elective next week too, so keen to know more about how yours went! Congratulations!!

Congratulations! 😊 So glad for you that your C-section has been a positive experience and all is going well. It will be nice to be discharged home. I'm having my elective C-section in two weeks and really hoping for a much more positive experience than my last birth.

Thanks everyone! Sure happy to share my experience in more detail 😊 We were 3rd up in a morning slot, so wasn’t allowed to eat after 12am and had to have omeprazole at 6am before being at hospital for 7.30am. Being 3rd there was abit of waiting around till going in at around 11.45am but just took a few things to watch. The surgery felt much more informed and relaxed being chatted through each part, putting our music on and having a little sing along. Did feel abit sick, but they gave me some meds to stop it, no pain, just felt odd/slightly uncomfortable with the tugging. Dropped the drape slightly as baby was pulled out. Had pulled arm out of gown before surgery so was easy to pull down for skin to skin. Afterwards was wheeled into recovery room where we started breastfeeding, midwife was great helping get her in place and getting things going. On the ward was given pain meds 4.5hrs after, followed by help getting up out of bed with catheter removed at 5hrs…

Massive congratulations!! How exciting xx

The pain of standing was a lot better compared to the emergency. I would just say try stand up straight as you can, take you time but try get out of bed regularly. It can be sore as meds wear off, but generally just try timing things around meds. The ward is quite loud and distributive so will be happy to sleep in own bed tonight. I packed an eye mask to help sleep, I haven’t used my ear buds which brought for day time naps, but I think I was a lot more tired after my emergency section due to the long labour and trauma so had a lot more sleep to catch up on. Happy to answer any specific questions 😊

Aww congratulations 💗

Wonderful news! Congratulations! I have an elective soon after emergency with the first hoping for similar experience to the one you shared
