I could of honestly wrote this about my daughter. She's generally not very smiley and isn't sleeping great lately. Last night she screamed the house down from 6pm until 9.30pm, nothing would settle her at all. This morning it started again and she's been pretty wingy all day but tonight she's sleeping and has been since 5pm! So strange. My daughter is 14 weeks on Tuesday but I think it's a leap thing and possibly the 4 month sleep regression 🙈 it will get better. Hope your okay. Xx
Big love to you this shit is HARD!!!! We had a few weeks of BIGGG meltdowns and best thing I did was put him in the carrier, nose cancelling headphones on and go outside for a walk. 9/10 after a few mins outside he calmed down, and it either calmed him entirely and once we was home he’d have some boob and sleep, or if it didn’t put him to sleep, it atleast gave me however long I was walking for some peace and a break from the tears. Proud of you x
Does your little one have colic? Crying for long periods of time (3.5 hours) and especially at night are signs of colic, my little one would never settle at night and we tried every colic trick there is, we then found out he has CMPA and once we changed his milk he was a completely different baby, I’m not suggesting your baby has this but sometimes if everything you’ve tried isn’t working and it’s happening each night it could be something along the lines of colic
I’m really sorry to hear you’re going through such a tough time. It’s completely understandable to feel overwhelmed, especially when your little one is inconsolable. Holding your baby close, skin-to-skin, can sometimes work wonders for me so may be worth a try? If you’re up for it, a gentle walk outside might help. The fresh air and movement can be soothing for both of you. It’s also important to look after yourself. Feeling disconnected and distraught can be signs of postnatal depression, so it may be worth seeking support if possible. Remember, it’s okay to ask for help, and you’re not alone in this. Many parents have faced similar challenges, and support is available to help you through this difficult time. You are doing a great job!
@Sampriti yeah I think I need to start a routine a bit now as she’s getting super fussy at night. Maybe a bath before she loses her mind might help😬
@Ashleigh this is so hard for you but not going to lie.. it’s nice to know I’m not alone😅 how did the night go for you? How many times did she wake up out of interest?
@Chloe thank you so much it means a lot! Honestly it’s tough, I’ve got a little girl who’s just turned 2 aswell so going out is making it really difficult. Also I have 0 energy to go outside however I tried it last night and it worked so thank you!!!!
@Heidi I don’t think it’s colic as she doesn’t usually cry for over 3 hours, normally it’s just an hour but yesterday she felt she had to tell us all how she’s feeling🙃 what signs did you have to make you think she had CMPA?
@Katie this is so kind thank you I really appreciated that last night! I’ll take on all the tips you’ve given and fingers crossed it gets better 😭
I know right haha. The night was awful! Lost count how many times she was up. She would just get off then 2 mins later wake crying 🙈 what about you? X
@Incognito he was so unsettled like all the time! He was constantly grunting, would only ever sleep upright on my chest, always had poo in his nappy, would be constantly straining after a feed, then at 6 weeks he started pooping blood and mucus and it was a lot so took him back after already doing 3 visits and a different GP saw him and said it was CMPA we changed his milk that day within 48 hours he was settled, so chill, happy, started laughing, actually enjoying his feeds just a completely different baby
Oh love I can only imagine how hard it is when you have another little one to contend with, I’m SO glad it helped!!! Even when I can’t be bothered I know that fresh air will do me the world of good, and even if I just slowly plod down the street, it will make such a difference. You’re doing amazing xx
Have you tried giving her a nice hot water bath? Sometimes the water calms them down. And sending you lots of strength and patience. ♥️
