And any tips, I hear boys can be tough

Not quite there yet with my girl but a friend of mine said it’s much easier from 18 months because they have better control of their bladder and bowel. It’s a shorter road and definitely less messy 😂

Following

My first was 1. My second we still trying and he’s 2 now

We started 4.5 months ago, half a month after he turned 2. He got it quickly but he still has about 2 accidents a week, especially at the nursery…

My son is 3, and started this last Friday. I just told him that we’re having big boys pants on and he needs to go toilet when he needs it😂 (nappy still on for nap time and bed time) and he’s fine. Every time he needs it, he just goes on potty and I give him sticker and that’s all. We went out yesterday too and he had no problem. I put the dog training pads in his car seat, and stroller in case of accidents. I just keep reminding him every 15mins where do we go wee or poo? And he says potty. He had no signs of being ready to be potty trained but I am just fed up of how expensive the nappies are😂 he goes to nursery Monday to Thursday and they will continue helping him too. And I just take the potty with me everywhere we go. I am not doing the 3 or how many days at home to train him either, as I said we gone out yesterday and were going out again today. I just pack lots of spear pants, socks and trousers, and also the pads in case of accidents in car seat or stroller.

Just after his 2nd birthday, but he just wasn’t getting it. Waited until a couple of months before his 3rd and he got it straight away and has been completely dry day and night since. Looking back I probably could have tried again earlier, but with working etc it was finding the time so we did it over the Christmas break.

We’re about to start in April! He’ll be 16- 17 months. It looks like I’ll get lucky and it’ll be simple because he’s very obvious when he has to poop lol and he’s a pretty decent walker now. I’d say look for signs and teach him a word for when he has to go. My son goes “caca” lol. We’ve started using these I think boxers during the day that absorb owe, but are fabric and like underwear. At night we’ll still use pull ups though. We’re still gearing up lol

28 months old and he got it straight away. Tried on two previous occasions from when he turned 2, but he just did not get it. Lots of praise, stickers, tell him he is a big boy wearing big boys pants. Dont push if he doesnt want to. Put away potty and try again in a months time.

Tbh I’m still learning! I have a 3yr old boy and I’m barely getting him to poop in the potty lol he is almost getting the hang of telling me but I gotta work on showing him how to go pee

My boy was so ezi to potty train don’t think my daughter gonna b as ezi lol

Just before he turned 2.5, but he actually requested to use the potty (we had one around for a couple of months that he could see with no pressure to use). He took to it so well that he was completely daytime potty trained within about 7/8 weeks. Definitely wait until they show signs, it makes it so much easier and less stressful.

I waited until my son was just over 3 before starting, he then cracked it day and night within a month! I won't be rushing to do it, as personally I think under 2 is too young

I’ve got 3 boys, youngest is 8 months though. My older two were an absolute breeze! We tried around 2 years old, at first none of them were quite ready so we stopped pushing it, left them with no nappies on, potty left in sight for them, they then started it up again themselves once interested and were potty trained by 2.5 x

A couple of months before he turned 3. We tried before and he just wasn't getting it and I knew the stress wouldn't help either of us. The second time around it clicked almost straight away. He still has the odd accident, particularly when distracted. I fully believe when they are ready, it should be pretty straight forward. We did naked from the waist down for a few days to get started and went from there.

My boy was 32 months! It was tough and friends who had girls the same age had all potty trained their girls last summer! We tried at the same time last year but he just wasn’t ready ! We tried all the tricks, stickers, chocolate, prompting and followed the guidance but I think some times they’re just not ready! We started 3 weeks ago for the 3rd time and he took to it straight away and fully potty trained in about 4-5 days!

My little boy is almost 3 and we just started trying. A lot of advice says to wait until they tell you they’re going or they need to go so I’ve been trying to encourage him to do that. He told me he needed to poop the other day but we’ve still never used the potty successfully xx

Just after he turned 3. He decided he wanted to use the potty. We didn’t need to train him as he knew when he needed to go etc.

@Sarah how do you actually start my sons almost 3 he does know the difference between wee and poo but I just have no idea how to start 😭

We’ve just started with my boy, he’s 18 months today

my son turned 3 august, potty trained him in october half term. i had previously tried before but he just wasn’t ready, and my health visitor assured me that boys on average potty train at around 3 and a half, which helped me feel better and i just waited until he was ready which worked, he’s done amazingly since with very few accidents xx

Hi mom I just went to share some stories with you I have a 2 years old but I started potty at 20month the first days she's had lot of accident I was struggling to think how can I explain her we went together to the bathroom I just sitting to her potty and wee 🤣😂 until that she's starting copie me and ready potty book toilet offers toilet time every time you change nappy to start

About 2-2.5 to 3. Fully potty trained by 4. I’m doing it all over again as I had my second baby boy almost 2 months ago 😅

My boy 2y3m he was fully trained we did daytime and naps in a weekend and then nights a week later. My girls were 19m and 22m. I found my girls caught on much quicker than my boy.

We tried a couple times right after 2yo and he wasn't ready. Just after 2.5yo we tried again and it clicked for him. About a week before his 3rd birthday we stopped overnight diapers and he hasn't worn anything since. It definitely isn't a 3day ordeal like everyone claims it can be lol We also found for us it worked better to be completely naked at home and commando when we put pants on for a while. Underwear confused him for a few months and he would just pee in them

I have a 2.5 year old and haven’t started

I ticked the “less than 1” box, we just had a potty out to become friends with sitting on the potty :) I’ve found potty training in summer easier because less layers.. that’s when he cracked doing wee’s on the potty (just before turning two). But I still put him in nappies when leaving the house because it’s difficult to travel long distances without a potty when I can’t drive :) xx

Consistency is key. I made sure all of my children (I have 3 boys) were potty trained before 1. I threw away all diapers and took them every 15 mins. I started off with them sitting on the toilet then eventually I showed them how to stand up and pee.

Just before his second birthday i took it slow due to him needing surgery just after his birthday. Really picked up trying at 25 months. He has not caught on. His urologist suggested waiting another 6 months, but I don’t want to loose the little progress we have made. He’s 28 months now. He will hold his pee and go when I put him on the potty but he won’t tell me. If I put him in underwear or go naked he will have an accident and then me he went. Poop has been absolutely not in the potty. Not even try. He will go in his diaper or underwear and go about his day. Won’t even tell me.

We had a potty around for months before hand and offered big boy pants. He wasn't bothered until he was about 2.5 then he asked to wear pants and that was it, took a good few days but then he sat every hour, which was then extended to 2ish hours and then he could feel when he wanted. He still has a very occasional accident when he's v involved in play. I hear that getting them to poo on the potty can be v traumatic but we watched Poo goes to Pooland and he never struggled with it

both my boys were even the one who was non verbal my girl was something else x

My sons just turning 3. I bought him his first potty last year but started trying more often in the fall this year. He showed he wasnt ready but we just kept him diaper free at home and encouraged potty use. He has been great so last few days weve gone out without diapers and been great! Hes also gotten better at getting on the toilet or can pee standing so thats helped his ability to use it. So hes 3 and just almost potty trained lol they just care alot less, boys. Gosh i caught my son washing his hands inn the toilet!! 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤮

Started at 2.5 and she’s been diaper free for two months now. (Outside of nap and bedtime.

We tried a couple times, but we are now more seriously working on it since he just turned 3. We are reading lots of books and movies and making it really normalized and he is initiating some on his own, in a month or so I plan to try to get more on a schedule and more consistent than just when he tells me

I done it fully for day and nighttime too after 3 weeks and my boy is 21 months 😊 means he is fully potty trained now!

@Kiarra I was wanting to start at 18 months too but I have no idea where to even start 🤣

I started my son at 2 but he didn't want to do I let him do his thing and before I knew it he potty trained himself yes actually by himself just by watching his dad go to the bathroom and following me to the bathroom

I started at 4 months with elimination communication. All my kids have been potty trained well before 2 years. Here’s some videos to help you https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLqZ0mD-36VI6BgnPIs02GTW7jiDlOCj4W&si=CTDBlIz69W7bCTH7
