Play is fine. Just be consistent Involve him in your mealtime Eat with him, in front of him, etc
It is normal for them to want to play with food. They are BABIES. Babies like to play it's part of their development.
They learn a lot from playing with food. They explore textures and smells from play so let him. They also learn a lot from watching and mimic what we do so make sure you are sitting and eating with him.
My son is the same. He’s just now barely starting to sorta like some food but even when he does, he doesn’t even eat enough for one meal
My daughter was like that until literally last month. I was freaking out because she was 9 months and still only eating purées, I would offer her soft foods to start and she absolutely hated everything! I just had to keep trying. I’d offer her table food everyday, starting with whatever I could give her that I was eating. It took her a long time to get used to it, but now I only use purées sometimes in addition to her meals. I’m trying to get her to feed herself now, and she will definitely just grab the food and squeeze it in her hands 😂 my advice is to keep trying. Try offering table food everyday consistently
I give my son one thing day in and day out lol. Oats and homemade applesauce, lol recently tried introducing barley porridge but it was a hit the first day and by day three he didn’t want it at all. So I understand your frustration mama, it’ll get better
Sort of? We were into it then not. I found mine likes to only do one food at a time. So fruit for snack, veggies for lunch and just the main course for dinner. He will also spit out the first bite, but if I try the same food again, he will be more willing to accept it. But even if it’s a food he likes, he always spits out the first bite. Out of curiosity, Is your baby showing interest in your food?
