Milk suggestions

My son has just turned one and has had his 12 month appointment. His doctor recommended. We have him start trying whole milk. Backstory for clarification his dad is lactose intolerant. I his mom am a vegetarian and haven’t drunk cows, milk in over a decade. So we figured he’d be lactose intolerant which of course he is and I was wondering if you guys would have any suggestions of other milks to try. of course his doctor recommended that we didn’t try other forms of milk because they thought it wouldn’t give proper dietary needs. My mom think otherwise but asking other moms just to see.

So I would try whole milk see how he reacts to it, it has good fats for babies to have. If he doesn’t react well try lactose free milk. Start with like quart size jugs so your not throwing out a ton of milk if nobody else in the house drinks it

Lactaid whole milk - it is processed to be lactose free!

Not a milk suggestion but my ped said if our kiddo didn't like milk no big deal just give him yogurt and cheese 🤷🏼‍♀️

We use Ripple Kids which is pea protein. Our pediatrician said it’s great. My one concern is if we travel somewhere where it’s not available and he’s not use to other milk. But I’m not THAT concerned because milk isn’t actually necessary at all. The only thing they biologically need at this age is water.

Our pediatrician said soy or almond milk. We do almond milk mixed with lactose free and she has no issues
