How much milk is your LO still drinking daily?

Hi, ladies! My little one is still drinking a lot of milk throughout the day. Trying to feed him 3 decent meals per day plus snacks but he's usually having just 2 meals as he's fussy with food lately.. I know it's probably just teething and I should follow his lead but some days he's up to 4 bottles of milk. Soo can you pls give me some insight on what you're doing atm? How many bottles and at what times are you still offering? Have you stopped altogether? Is your little one drinking other options than cow's milk/formula? Any comment will be appreciated. Thx!

My LO has milk as and when he asks for it

1 bottle before bed only xx

Bottle when wakes up and then 1 before bed. She is a bad sleeper so has 1 in the middle of the night when she won’t settle. My girl has oat milk as she as CMPA x

We do two bottles, on wake up and at bedtime. He seems to like both so not in a rush to get rid of them. Would like to move to sippy/straw cup soon, but he never drinks as much from them and I’m a bit worried about his fluid intake from just water if he doesn’t have much milk.

I was going to ask the same! On a good day my LO is having 3 240ml bottles (before nap, before bedtime and one during the night as he still wakes a few times 🫠), but we could go to 4 if he wakes more than usual or if he has 2 naps. We do cow's milk only and in a bottle and if too many in a day, we water it down a bit. I was worried that we're a bit "behind" and he's having too much?

1 9oz bottle before bed (sometimes he don’t have it if he falls asleep before it etc) and then 1 9oz bottle in the morning so two a day xx

But my health visitor said that it’s totally fine if they want milk it won’t hurt them and it’s good for them so I wouldn’t worry xx

Thanks all for the messages! @Ana F, literally the same story!! What about food? How is your LO feeding? Are you able to maintain the recommended 3 meals + snacks? Also, does your LO wake up at night a lot? Thx in advance.

He eats ok (except when he's ill) and he has 3 meals and 2 snacks, yes. He still wakes between 2 and 3 times at night and we try to only give him a bottle after 4am.

2 bottles one around 5oz in the morning (or if she wakes in the night but she then won’t get it in the morning) and then a bottle at night at bedtime but some nights she’ll only have an oz or 2. Usually it’s around 5oz again. x

One 8oz bottle at bedtime x

My son has a massive appetite and eats a lot during the day, he doesn’t really have milk anymore. Maybe in a sippy cup during the day. He prefers water x

My baby was just having 1 at bedtime but she's waking loads at the minute has been for about a month so she's having 2 more 5oz during the night. I feel like we've gone backwards but I'm taking her lead x

I'm glad others are in the same boat, I thought it was just us x

About 150ml after her lunch, just before her nap. She doesn’t always drink it all. She loves yoghurt and cheese so she probably doesn’t need it tbh.

We recently swapped milk into a straw cup rather than bottle and it’s decreased dramatically. I think she liked the bottle for comfort rather than the milk! x

@Shayne what bottle are you using?

5oz at bedtime. She drinks loads of water though and has 3 meals plus snacks x

We are now using the polar bear Tum tum that glows in the dark (she has always had cold milk since switching to cows milk) x
