Similar experience, I had an episiotomy and 2nd degree tear with labial lacerations. I would say it took until at least 5 weeks pp for me to feel a lot better down there. These cooling pads were a godsend - https://www.boots.com/boots-maternity-cooling-ice-maxi-pads-5s-10288931?gclsrc=aw.ds&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAA-AdmwRHix68084ex4ljMGFxqiWOr&gclid=CjwKCAiA74G9BhAEEiwA8kNfpSZOcTIvdl9PUmcD7s36NXQQ4BA9BRfFD1P_t_W7OVWsy5-JLrvoMxoCqbEQAvD_BwE and I used a peri bottle daily also. I went into a bath after the 2nd week and used these bath salts - https://www.boots.com/my-expert-midwife-soak-for-bits-perineal-recovery-soak-750g--10292042?awaid=2041&utm_source=redbrain&utm_medium=shopping&utm_campaign=css&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAADA7Q_IVDQMRm3bFOsrZPV0Qf83ZV&gclid=CjwKCAiA74G9BhAEEiwA8kNfpRXp2UVIwdTloqUOpIiRFs3vmhAtikI8ujqzwTs1ByfwXJizrr8kkRoCvYEQAvD_BwE I would say that these really helped with recovery for sure, in time you will heal though. It’s tough going but you got this! x
I had the same with lots of stitches and it was very painful, I noticed a big improvement around 4 weeks. I used witch hazel pads cooled down in the fridge. Sitting down was really difficult for a few weeks.
Hey, stitches can be uncomfortable but don’t worry it will get better day by day. If sitting hurts, order a Inflatable Pressure Relief Ring Donut Support Cushion from Amazon. I had 2nd degree and couldn’t sit properly as it hurt but this helped massively. X
