Not standing unassisted

My little girl is 15 months old and doesn’t seem to want to stand up on her own without support. She doesn’t pull herself up or cruise along the sofa either. She will also cry when we try get her to stand up. We’ve been advised by the health visitor to get a doctor’s appointment to check her hips are ok (which we have done but appointment isn’t until 13th March). She’s always been slow with her milestones like she didn’t crawl until 2 weeks before her first birthday. Does anyone have any advice on what we could do to encourage her to stand independently? I see so many little ones around her age walking at this point and I’m worried because she can’t even stand independently yet🙈

Our LG has been cruising so slightly different but has only started standing independently (and only for say 10 seconds) this last couple of weeks, so don’t panic. However I have heard of it sometimes being more to do with their core and not hips and the paediatric Drs sometimes give a sort of belt to help. Have you tried the tote bag trick? It’s more for walking but may give LO some confidence to stand too by slowly giving them more weight on their own feet? Xxx

@Rhiannon Oh wow, didn’t know it was to do with their core so that’s interesting to know! I think it’s just one of those things she’ll do in her own time but we go on holiday in June and I would love for her to be walking by then🙈! Never heard of the tote bag trick? X

She probably has a slight hypotonia and/or tension in one side. My son was the same and baby physiotherapy fixed him. Do let me know if you need recommendations for good therapists.
