Higher folic acid dose

Hi Has anyone been prescribed a higher folic acid dose when pregnant? What does this mean? X

You should be taking folate not folic acid. Out dated NHS information which should be corrected asap. Folic acid is the synthetic version of folate which has no bioavailability to the body. Quick Google will help you more.

I got prescribed this because my bmi was high x

Yes because I was pregnant with twins. I had them from about 5.5 weeks till 12 weeks to help their development in the early days

I was 1mg it was supposed to help the development of the baby while inside as well as after the baby is born. It's also good for the mother, because it helps with energy. prevent and treat low levels of vitamin B9 in your body. This vitamin helps form red blood cells.
