Help needed please

Hi everyone. We are on week 2 of potty training my little girl who is 2 and a half. She is going absolutely fine at home with using the potty in the day. We have had minimal accidents and she will take herself off when she needs to go. We are having issues at nursery though, she is holding her wee in all day and then becoming extremely uncomfortable. We have tried taking her potty from home in which worked for one day and even resorted to putting a nappy on her which she won’t go in now as she has been using the potty. Anyone had similar or has any tips on how to overcome it? (pretty sure it’s an anxiety thing).

I had a very similar problem. When I potty trained mine she had a problem with accidents when wearing knickers instead of being bare so we put the pull ups on for nursery and she got UTIs twice. I found what worked for us was giving her a bigger water bottle (more hydrated, dunno if that helped with the wee but definitely the UTI) but we had to have someone from the nursery be her "pee buddy" and they would take her to the toilet regularly, get her to sit on it and just talk to her for a few minutes. It took a good few goes but eventually she started to wee whilst they chatted. And eventually she started asking that same person every time she needed the toilet until eventually she could go with anyone.

@Kirstin that’s actually a good idea. I think she needs one person to take her so she’s used to it. They have actually suggested taking her bottle from home in rather than a cup and also some juice to encourage her to drink more. I’m just so concerned she will get UTI’s etc.
