Workplace

Has anyone had problems with their workplace being insensitive to them during their pregnancies. What did you do in that case? I’ve had the deputy manager arguing with me and shouting at me for not being able to contact them every week for a check in although I’ve had hypermesis all up to 26 weeks pregnant and haven’t been able to swallow my own spit and having a lot of dizziness due to low iron causing me fainting episodes since 16 weeks which haven’t gone away. I’m 30 weeks today and they are making it hard to process my maternity leave persisting on a home visit. But I’ve had to move back in with my mum since I haven’t been able to afford my rent anymore and having problems with my baby’s dad. I’m just so upset how unsympathetic they can be when none of them have gone through pregnancy to know how mentally, emotionally and physically draining it can be.

Yep! They made me start my maternity leave early because I was disruptive 😂

Wow, you can contact ACAS, and is there HR available to report to? What grounds are they wanting to make a home visit? I’ve never heard of that before in any case. If you have been signed off by GP or midwife, they should really be leaving you to it, as you wouldn’t be signed off if you were capable of working. I would also send them a firm email letting them know that they’ve added to the stress and been extremely disrespectful. Have they completed a risk assessment with you at any point? Given you the company’s maternity/ paternity policy?

Feel you here! My managers Manager found it in herself to start talking about my pregnancy to other people when I hadn’t even told anymore yet and had to tell work as I was off with my pregnancy absolutely annoying x
