I meant humalin.
Humulin is also short acting 🙂
@Samantha then idk what to do because I have my endo saying one thing and MFM another. My endo is saying the Lantus isn’t fda approved but humalin is.. and she wants me on humalin to bring down my fasting numbers
Hm, well I would think Lantus would bring down fasting numbers since it's typically taken once at night to act slowly overnight. Humulin is taken before meals to help with glucose spiking after eating. Ultimately it's whatever you feel most comfortable with. Do you have type 2 or gestational diabetes?
I have type 2. I had gestational with the other pregnancies but I have type 2 now. It’s weird because my endocrinologist says humalin is long acting.. but you’re saying it’s not and it’s for meals.. so idk what to do. I’ll just have to talk to maternal fetal because they specialize in pregnancies whereas this endocrinologist specializes in everyone with diabetes. I know Maternal fetal did say I’d have to probably make a choice on who to deal with for my sugars because the two can have issues - endocrinologist or MFM. So, I have to chose who I want to manage my diabetes. I’ll probably stick with maternal fetal. I’ll just express my concerns
I'm not diabetic, but those are two different types of insulin. Lantus is long acting, humolog is short acting. Can't exactly compare the two equally.
