Teething?

My baby is 14 weeks old (3.5 months) and has been drooling a lot and biting his hands and more irritable. Trying to chew on his fingers and mine. Seems to be calmed or soothed when using a stage 1 or 2 teether. I called his paediatrician today to ask about teething remedies and she said he’s not teething, he’s too young. She also said he could just be irritable from something else but he has no fever or rashes or anything. Not sure what he could be bothered by except his gums? I also don’t see or feel any teeth yet but it really does just seem like his gums are bugging him. Generally he’s not a fussy baby unless something is wrong. Any ideas or anyone else been through something similar?

My baby is 14 weeks too, and he’s doing exactly the same drooling loads biting his hands and being really irritable. I saw a video online of trying to put a glass on your babies gums to see babies teeth if they are coming through maybe try this as my LO bottoms two teeth i can see and thats what is irritating him but my LO is being really fussy and won’t take any dummies at the moment.

He’s also started doing this thing with his tongue almost like he is rubbing it against the teeth

He could be irritated by the teeth moving under the gums, even if the actual tooth takes a little while longer to come through. My little one cut his first tooth last week at 17 weeks and the second cut today. He was teething for a few weeks before this, doing a lot of what you're describing but his poo was also super green with lots of mucus from the incredible amount of drooling he was doing. Some babies are born with teeth so it's possible at any time. Besides going through a lot of bibs every day, we used loads of different types of teethers/toys in different textures and we recently gave him some teething powder too

My first baby cut his first tooth at 17 weeks, so it definitely isn’t too early!!!
