Sticky eye

My little girl is just over 12 weeks and in and off since she was born she wakes up with her left eye almost glued shut! We clean it with cooled boiled water but sometimes it just seems like she constantly has it and wiping it is only temporary. Has anyone else had this or does anyone know anything we can try to stop this happening so often

We've also had the same thing, but he managed to spread it to the other eye and then to me! We got rid of it with about 2 weeks of really consistent care - wipe min 3 x a day with luke warm water that's been boiled & a pinch of salt, wiping from inner corner to outer corner. Repeat until all crust is gone (we went through about 8 cotton pads each time!). Then at least once a day, but sometimes two, adding a drop of breastmilk (not touching it but let baby blink it out if that makes sense - wipe excess from face but leave the eye damp). If u don't have breastmilk get some colidial silver from as.living1 on instagram (link to their website) & spray that onto a pad & wipe with that after having done the cleaning with the boiled water. Hope that helps. Unless the eye is really puffy & red, then it's best to avoid the antibiotic drops as the evidence shows that the infection only lasted for one day longer when not used so best to avoid if you can. Hope this helps anyone else! Oh & wash hands like all the time!!

@Alexandra this is really helpful!! Thank you x

My health visitor said to keep using cooled boiled water and it could last up to a year 😳

We had the same thing, used to wipe everyday but wasn’t solving the issue. Went to the doctors, they did a swab and turns out it’s bacterial so we have some eye drops that are definitely helping. Her eye wasn’t red or anything so maybe ask your go to do a swab?

@Elsa that hair is amazing!!! I guess it’s pretty normal then, it had cleared up for a few weeks but seems to have just come back quite bad the last week or so x
