-Put the bottle next to baby’s favorite toy. -Try in the bathtub. -Heat milk temperature to body temperature. -Warm up the bottle nipple in warm water immediately before feeding. -Try feeding baby with bottle frequently so that they get more practice. -Bait and switch: start with the breast and after a few minutes carefully unlatch and offer bottle in the same position. -If baby doesn’t take the bottle, take around 5 minutes before giving them the breast. -Try cup feeding: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/rWZcU9mCC68
it’s normal! they are becoming a LOT more aware of their surroundings and get overstimulated easily and like looking around. it’s a phase that will pass
A trick that i do with my baby that is going through the same thing is i replace my index in her cheeks while i hold the bottle! It works every time i have no idea why! I learned it from my mom
Going through the same struggle with breastfeeding, 3.5 months old😭 it’s been such a challenge these last couple of weeks. He wants to look around/smile/play… feedings are sooo long these days.
@Asma inside the mouth?
No on her cheeks
I’m going through the same thing for weeks now, it’s so hard to feed her. Every time I try to feed her she’s babbling nonstop, chewing the bottle nipple, smiling, laughing, head turning side to side nonstop so the bottle falls out of her mouth, etc…
Yep! She hit 3 months and now is sooo distracted
@Asma do you have a picture? I’m sorry I cannot visualize what exactly you mean 😑
I noticed this too
Tips my healthcare provider recommended: -Camouflage the bottle with a cloth. -Cover the bottle with a cloth that smells like you. -Try different ways of holding baby, facing away from you or facing towards you. -Give the bottle while walking around. -Make it playful or fun. -Try right when baby wakes up, before changing the diaper. -Try bottle-feeding when baby is drowsy or asleep. -Let baby play with an empty bottle. -Let baby see other babies taking the bottle, or be around other babies when you try.
