Any running mums here?

I just did my first preggo run and it felt so weird! I felt really guilty jiggling the baby around even though I know it’s safe 😱 seems to trigger the round ligament pain too! Anyone else experience this? I used to run 3 times a week but haven’t been able to bring myself too since getting pregnant. I did have to laugh at myself going down the street belly first… x

It is a very strange sensation, I agree. I feel some tightness in my belly when I run but I think it’s more your muscles trying to keep things in place ☺️ I try to think that being in shape will be good for the baby and the labour so that works as a good distraction away from the baby jiggling around in there

I've been lucky enough to keep running throughout pregnancy so far and i agree that it's all starting to feel a bit strange the bigger baby is getting! I often see tiktoks of women running when they're extremely pregnant and use that for motivation/confirmation that everything is fine 😂

I stopped running shortly after I found out I was pregnant as it hurt my boobs and I felt so sick! Haven’t ran since but I’d be too scared of tripping over, but I do really miss it sometimes, walking isn’t the same :(

@Becky the same happened to me but I just took it really slow and gentle and really glad I did it! Helped me feel more like myself! Starting back with walk/runs x

Used to run regularly and ran a half marathon at 7 weeks but stopped afterwards due to fatigue. Ran for the first time this Monday at 23 weeks, the jiggle did feel weird at first but was fine after and I found that it really relieved my back pain, however after just 1km the round ligament or maybe pelvic girdle pain was getting pretty intense, so I slowed to a walk. Loved the feeling of running again though and was so happy for my back 😄 I’m planning to run twice a week just 1-2km now until it doesn’t feel good anymore, meanwhile doing a prenatal Pilates program which also has some at home cardio bits.

I recently bought a belly support band and what a difference running. Felt like i wasnt getting uncomfortable with my bladder and not experiencing same strains etc. I got mine from amazon!

@Christina ohh I had no idea this was a thing! Getting one now! Thank you
