Birth plan..

I’m 37 weeks and baby has had a growth spurt the last two scans. She is now not classified as SGA and doctors are saying it’s fine to have a natural birth if I want, as I can now go full term. I am so happy this is the case, but I’m more confused than ever now… I had it in my head I’d be having her earlier and via C-section. I have a scan next week at 38 weeks.. do I book in a c-section or wait and see if I labour naturally?

I'm in the U.S. Both of my l girls were diagnosed with IUGR (Intrauterine Growth Restriction). I had them both vaginally. The 1st kid also had a Congenital Heart Defect, and she came naturally on her own at 35 weeks. The 2nd kid, I was induced at 38 weeks, and we ran into complications after they broke my bag of waters, and then I had to get an epidural. My girls are now 6 years old and 3 years old. They are still very small for their ages, not on the average charts but they're thriving. I'm 5ft and my husband is 5'5. I'm not making basketball players and as long as they're growing and healthy I dismiss the pediatricians when they say my girls are too small.

My boy was diagnosed with IUGR at 37 weeks, I went into labor naturally within a week of that and he was born vaginally at 38+1. No real complications

Thank you both for sharing, it’s good to know a vaginal birth was still possible.
