What is this 😩

My baby is asleep and I've just noticed this there is loads I've cleaned it all up and can't really see any fresh cuts and it looks like the actual inside of his ear looks a bit bluddy to this has happened a few times when he is self soothing to sleep he plays with his ears and sometimes his nails will scratch the inside and cause bleeding and when I wipe I can see the cut where it's bleeding but this time I can't and I've just put my light on phone down his ear and wiped and I can see blood!

I think if the blood is coming even after you’ve wiped it then just rush to emergency to get it checked. Most likely, it could be just a scratch by the baby during sleep onto an old wound but still just get it checked if your unsure.

@Prinks I have wiped it and put pressure on slightly on his ear and it's stopped I'm hoping the blood I seen in the actual ear hole is just from blood that has leaked from a scratch sort of thing and not actually blood coming from the ear hole he is obsessed with touching his ears when he is self soothing and has scratched the inside so many times and caused bleeding a lot like this but when I've wiped I can always see the cut etc but I cant this time they just look like ones from before hmmm

Has baby hit his head at all? Even something minor? If yes please go get him checked as a precaution x

@Kate he's always done this and had his ears checked before and never had ear infection it's his way of self soothing he does it with his hair to like flicks his fingers back and forth on his hair and ears

That’s good news! It’s probably what you said about him scratching it and maybe you just can’t see where. As long as the bleeding has stopped, but if you’re worried call someone x

@Louise thanks hun yes blood has stopped straight away and all cleared up now and can't see nothing and surely if it was like ear infection it be doing it in day and see discharge etc where as it's literally just happened as he's going to sleep x

My baby scratches her head to self soothe, but she was making herself bleed so I keep mitts on her now x

you should take bub to emerrgency or to your GP in the morning. Does bub cry him/herself to sleep?

Does he have autism? I’m only asking, because my son is autistic and touches his ears all the time. Seen many doctors had to have tubes twice, but hearing is great and no other problems with ears.
