Homeschool Resources

With all the current turmoil, I can’t help but entertaining the idea of homeschooling. I have a 6 and almost 4 year old. Please share any homeschooling tips/resources/groups/etc! We are looking for a progressive, inclusive, non-religious program.

I’ve always thought that KhanAcademy was a really good start. I really like Professor Dave’s series “Math (All of it)” on YouTube. It’s really cool how many free structured courses exist online

We use our school. Super fun classes they have cooking dancing anything you can think of . They join online break out into groups . They prepare you if anything is needed . My girls are 10 and 6 and they do dance hip hop and Spanish classes my son doesn’t circle time with a group through out school

Torchlight Curriculum and Blossom & Root

I’m still some time out but I was wondering is there certain laws in Texas that we have to follow? Like do we have to register them as being home schooled if we don’t register them for public education?

@Tatyana you just need to teach the required subjects and use some sort of curriculum starting at age 6! https://hslda.org/post/how-to-comply-with-texas-homeschool-law

@Jess thank you for sharing this!
