Postnatal Vitamins 💊

Hi ladies! Any advice on important vitamin supplements post-baby? I read that both iron and Vit D are important if you plan to breastfeed but just wondering if there was anything else you found helpful or that made a big difference? I struggle to swallow large capsules so ideally looking for something I can take in a liquid or gummy format! Also any good supplements/treatments for postnatal hair loss? Thank you! ☺️

Omega 3 and prenatal vitamins. My OB told me to continue them for atbleast 6 months postpartum.

Only take iron if it's recommended by your physician. Continue taking a prenatal multivitamin with folic acid. ...nothing can help the hair loss it's just because you didn't lose any while pregnant.

Nothing you can do about the hair loss unfortunately. Whatever prenatal vitamins you were taking are absolutely fine to continue with

With my multis I add in a “hair skin nails” and another hair vitamin because physical health is important to me and my hair loss only lasted 2m. At my age I also take a collagen powder w my coffee every morning it just dissolves in the coffee. Through BF the baby takes up all our stored nutrients so I wanna make sure I’m not lacking in anything

Babies iron stores are used by around 6 months that’s why it’s important to feed baby iron rich food once they start taking solids. Taking a certain amount of vitamin d orally ensures baby gets enough through breastmilk I forget how much talk to their pediatrician. There’s some in my prenatal so I take 4,000 in addition. Plus Wisconsin is bad for sunlight exposure. I started taking beef organ supplements and I feel better honestly dunno if it’s placebo but I started feeling crummy in Feb. I also take omega 3s, calcium and a probiotic

@Melissa you're better off just giving your baby vitamin d which is the standard recommendation by pediatric associations.
