My son is able to count to 10 and say majority of his ABCs but won’t say any other words or sentences 😩. I spoke with a SLT so hoping for some help going forward

My little boy is the same he’s been walking since about 9 months. My friends is a speech and language therapist she said babies are either walkers or talkers and not to worry. He is saying some words like mama dada car etc. but I’m not worried we read to him and he is spoken to constantly and he will definitely get there I think he put all his effort in to moving to begin with 😅

did you self refer for a SLT?

My son is barely walking. Chooses when he can be bothered to. But can say a few words. Maybe not clear to some but we understand what he means. For eg. He says Mama, Dada, Nana, No, Cat, Bowwow, up, Down, Ready, Apple, Bubble, go and maybe some others. They’re not 1000% clear but we understand xx
