Mastitis😔

Hello long lovely gold coasters! I birthed by emergency c section at the GCUH 4 weeks ago today. The journey thus far has been pretty dreadful if I'm honest, and it doesn't appear to be getting much better. This afternoon I had a very quick onset feeling of breast pain, chills, I feel freezing and I can't stop shaking. Also aching a lot. My question is, is it normal for it to come on this fast, like fine one minute, and then she breast fed and I immediately felt terrible 😔 I have Cephalex from the GP which I've just started taking, is anyone familiar with this, and how long did it take to start feeling better? 🙏🏻 I'm struggling to care for my baby 😭 Thank you x

Aww Sian so sorry you are feeling this way - it can be really rough !! Be kind to yourself , yes mine came in really quickly as you said - breast pain then instantly felt horrible . I got into it with loads of things and it passed within 24 hours . Message me know if you want extra remedies to help you along xx

You should feel better after the second dose. X Is there a red patch/triangle on one of your boobs? Sorry, mama. It really is the trenches those first few months...

Yes mine came very suddenly. Sorry you're going through this, it's rough!

@Katie thank lovely. My right boob.is very painful and lumpy, but I can't see redness yet, however the limp seems to be somewhat under the areola so maybe that's why? X Any suggestion welcome!!

@Kathleen thank you! No redness but it's under the areola the lump so maybe why? It really, really is! Never ending! I just want to enjoy my little girl but feel like an awful mum cos I'm not enjoying it due to all the issues and pain 😭
