I've had 3 natural births and all were different! My 1st I had a PPH so lost alot of blood, 2nd was absolutely fine with normal blood loss, and 3rd was honestly textbook, such a calm experience! I had gas & air and pethidine with my 1st, nothing at all with my 2nd (not by choice) and gas & air with my 3rd ❤️. I'd highly recommend a natural birth if you can, as you recover much quicker and it's honestly safer for you and baby x

Absolutely amazing BUT I worked hard during my pregnancy so my labor is easy I did alllll I could, exercises, practicing breathing and watching many positive natural birth videos to motivate myself at the end of my pregnancy I went to labor as one confident mother that will have an amazing positive labor experience and I was lucky to really experience that! Good luck girl xx

Loved it , water birth , delivered and laboured in the water which I found best helped with contractions ; walking around helped too surprisingly for me xx will do again this time round

I had no painkillers and an induction (I can’t have an epidural and can’t go into labor naturally). I know everyone says it’s magical and wonderful blah blah blah but it was the worst day of my life. It was so awful, and that was with it going as well as possible, but I’ve now spent every moment of this pregnancy horrified that I have to do it again. If you have a wonderful experience with it, I’m so happy for you. But don’t feel bad if you don’t, this particular topic seems to be awash with toxic positivity so no one feels they can say it wasn’t actually that great but just know - some of us fuckin hated the experience and wish we’d have the option for medications.

I actually really loved my labour and I'm so glad it went the way it did! I planned a birthing centre birth but I went into labour 5 weeks early and contractions were super intense so was on the ward. No pain relief for me, didn't like gas and air and didn't need anything else! I used hypnobirthing methods to get me through and it was great. 4 hours from waters breaking to giving birth! Hoping next ones will be similar experience lol x

Me 🤚 I woke up with contractions at 6am. They were pretty consistent throughout the day, gradually becoming more frequent and intense. I headed to hospital when they were 5 mins apart (around 2pm) and when I got there the midwife told me i could still be a few hours away, but i knew she was coming and my waters broke immediately whilst being checked at 9cm. Got in the pool and she was born after 2 pushes. I had been in hospital all of 10 minutes. I did have gas and air afterwards when being stitched up and having to have clots massaged out of me, as this was really painful. But the whole labour and birth was amazing and incredibly healing after my first birth was a complicated 5 day long induction with epidural and episiotomy. Would definitely do natural again without a shadow of a doubt. Recovery was much more straight forward too. X

My first was intense as I threw up a lot. Because of that I didn't realise how far along I was. I used a Tens machine which was a nice distraction. My second was much calmer but quicker. I found a bath really helped. Much more magical as I had my second at home. Both births were really special and I am now very proud of having had natural births. I would recommend give birth like a feminist. It was so empowering

I had paracetamol and gas and air , which I'm not sure really did anything! I ended up with vontouse but recovery was pretty quick. I'm not going to say I enjoyed it but I think it felt like it was really fast and I don't think I'd have been as effective at pushing if I had an epidural and couldn't feel it. Our bodies are designed to do this and I think I'd aim to go down the same route if I do it again!

@Roksan definitely go for epidural this time! Hoping you have a great experience this time around:)

Great, I did hypnobirthing and kept really fit and active throughout my pregnancy which I believe really aided my body in coping in labour and recovery after birth. My waters broke out of the blue at 40 weeks and contractions started quite quickly afterwards, from start to finish I was 4hrs 30mins. I used a tens machine and gas and air for pushing, I had a planned home birth ☺️

My first I had only gas and air (asked for an epidural but by the time they got to me it was too late). Second arrived accidentally and rather quickly at home, so 100% natural. Third due in August, will probably be another home birth but planned this time 🤞🏻

I had an induction with no pain relief that wasn’t horrible but my completely unmedicated birth was a dream compared lol I highly recommend hypnobirthing!

Yes I did and it was AMAZING! Home waterbirth attended by a hands off CPM. Highly recommend

I’ve had 3 spontaneous vaginals it’s the only way I choose to birth unless an emergency Csec is absolutely necessary but it hasn’t been so, I just wait for contractions to come, stay at home for as long as I can bear it, by the time I go in I’m already 7-8cm so it’s only a couple hrs in hospital before I need to push. I had gas and air for all 3 because it helps me zone out, like an “out of body” experience, no one can talk to me or ask me a question without tapping me on the shoulder for me to “come to” otherwise the gas helps me zone myself out to another planet. I had a lil hiccup for all 3 but I wouldn’t describe them as “traumatic” (maybe for another mum it might be) 1st her head was stuck down for so long she came out cone-headed, 2nd I had placenta bits stuck up me so she had to shove her whole arm up me to remove the rest (came out shredded) and 3rd I had the shakes for like 30mins after. But I would do it again, yeah.

Yes, no pain relief at all as I was 10cm dilated when I walked in to hospital. Being active throughout pregnancy, raspberry leaf tea in your third trimester, birthing ball and walking around throughout labour are my tips!
